How early can I check into an ANA flight?
For ANA (All Nippon Airways) flights, you can check in online starting 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. This online check-in service is available through the ANA website or mobile app and remains open until about 75 minutes before departure for international flights and up to 20 minutes before departure for domestic flights within Japan.
During online check-in, you can enter your passport details, choose or change your seat, and receive your boarding pass electronically. If you're traveling with just hand luggage, online check-in allows you to head straight to the security area or boarding gate after arriving at the airport. If you have checked baggage, you’ll need to go to the baggage drop-off counter at least 60 minutes before departure for international flights and at least 20–30 minutes before for domestic flights.
If you're flying internationally, ANA recommends that passengers arrive at the airport at least 2 to 3 hours before the flight, even if you’ve checked in online. This is because you’ll still need to go through passport control, security screening, and possibly document verification depending on your destination. For domestic flights within Japan, arriving at the airport 1 hour before departure is usually enough.
At the airport, ANA also offers self-service kiosks that allow you to check in, select seats, and print your boarding pass. These kiosks are useful if you couldn’t complete online check-in or need to make last-minute changes.
Certain passengers, such as those needing wheelchair assistance, traveling with pets, or children flying alone, may be required to check in at the counter, regardless of whether online check-in was used.
In summary, ANA allows you to check in online 24 hours before your flight. While online check-in is convenient and time-saving, it's still important to arrive at the airport early, especially for international travel, to complete all necessary procedures without rushing.
